The souvenir jacket is still having a bit of a moment these days, especially among upscale streetwear labels. These are the colorful satin baseball jackets with huge embroideries—yeah, remember the one that Ryan Gosling wore in Drive?—and they’re actually, like many stylish articles of clothing, bygone wartime relics from Americans stationed in the Pacific. Today, the souvenir jacket’s loud colors and distinct looks have caught on with fashion’s maximalist movement, resulting in iteration after iteration of the design.

But none of those iterations are quite like this new episode of the Adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange, starring Juice Hong Kong and Footpatrol London. Together, they’ve come up with an Adidas Matchcourt Mid and an Adidas Handball Top, both in colorways that were inspired by souvenir jackets. Take a look:

The embroideries and gold-foil print are key design elements that reference the souvenir jacket, as well as the shiny, colorful mess of Hong Kongese souvenir markets. But on top of that, the shoes just look pretty damn great.

The Juice x Footpatrol x Adidas Consortium collaboration is the latest in their Sneaker Exchange series, which pairs popular streetwear boutiques from different regions with each other to create two pairs of sneakers. Previously, we’ve shown you the Untited Arrows & Sons x Slam Jam collaboration, which fused Japanese and Italian culture together in a Gazelle and a Campus. All in all, 22 brands will have participated in the Sneaker Exchange, which launched in January and will run until the end of the year.
