At the crack of sunrise last Sunday, gentlemen and ladies in leather brogues and sport coats rode off to the Manila Bay atop classic and vintage motorcycles for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2017, the third time the Philippines joined in on the annual worldwide ride, and what is perhaps the most successful staging of the event in the country. A parallel ride was also held in Cebu.

Over 700 riders (614 registered in Manila and 144 in Cebu) followed this year's route). In Manila, it started from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and then went to the Quezon City Hall via EDSA, before finishing up at Mandala Park on Shaw Boulevard. At the same time, in over 600 cities all over the world, roads sang with the engines of more scramblers, Italian scooters, and café racers, all to raise funds for prostate cancer and men’s mental health.

The Ride was also a celebration of style, as men wore their best threads, showing off a range of looks, from a full-on tux reminiscent of Sean Connery’s James Bond to outfits more tempered for the city’s tropical weather, with button-down shirts, bow ties, and suspenders. While ascots, vests, and ties reigned supreme, others went for a more James Dean-inspired look, channeling the icon’s Rebel Without a Cause style in leather jackets and workwear denim.

And while you consider donating funds to the cause, enjoy some of the most stylish moments at this year’s ride.
