This Hoodie Helps Conservationists Fight for the Philippines

One hoodie is raising awareness and funds for the conservation of Philippine flora and fauna. The Tier One x WWF-Philippines hoodie is a rare collaboration between the video game industry and environmentalists. 

“Tier One Entertainment constantly revolves around new worlds. While these fantastical worlds are all digital and fictional, there is only one world that is real—and that’s our planet, Earth,” Tier One tells Esquire Philippines.

“Video games shouldn’t just be an escape from reality, that’s why the opportunity to work with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines is something we couldn’t refuse.”

This is not the first time WWF-Philippines has teamed up with the gaming industry. In March 2021, the NGO collaborated with local Mobile Legends teams to raise awareness on endangered species. 

In a joint statement, Tier One and WWF-Philippines emphasized the need to protect the environment through Esports. 

“Online sports can also be an effective platform to increase awareness on environmental issues. Both Tier One and WWF believe that gamers can be allies in building back the balance with nature and giving back to the planet.”

Tier One x WWF Hoodie Price and Where to Buy

The Tier One x WWF hoodie will be sold on BLCKBOX, Tier One’s Lazada storefront. It costs P3,000. Proceeds from hoodie sales will support WWF-Philippines’ conservation initiatives. 

Evergreen Hoodie

Unlike limited-edition drops, the Tier One x WWF hoodie is evergreen, which means it is the first item in the Tier One merchandise that is available for purchase forever. 

“I’ve always wanted an avenue and platform to give back to the planet, and this partnership with WWF-Philippines is perfect for that. I want to give gamers the chance to show that we care, and we can contribute towards efforts to save the planet. After all, it’s the only one we’ve got, so we should love and care for it,” said Tryke Gutierrez, CEO of Tier One Entertainment.
