Timex + Todd Snyder's Elegant, Affordable Marlin Watch Just Got the Blues

After bringing olive into the mix last month, Timex and Todd Snyder are back with another collaborative riff on the Marlin watch. This time, the timepiece gets an easygoing but elegant navy on the dial, a stainless steel case, and a brown, croc-embossed strap to finish things off. Like all Marlins, it comes in at an extremely unobtrusive 36mm, and has a hand-wound movement that—aside from being a simple and effective throwback—keeps the profile nice and low.

It's not a challenging look—and that's the whole point. You could wear this watch with a super-sharp suit or a shaggy sweater, and it'd look just as good. Hey, versatility is a virtue. And when it comes to playing nice with both work-friendly looks and whatever you want to wear on the weekend, this watch is about as versatile as they come.

Timex has been churning out one hit after another this year. Aside from the collaboration with Todd Snyder, the brand has launched a couple of in-house heavy-hitters. The Q Timex, with its red-and-blue bezel and vintage diver-inspired looks, has released and sold out three separate times—all in less than 24 hours. Luckily, the new Navi XL Automatic, another diver-inspired winner, is there to pick up the pieces of your broken heart; it hasn't yet sold out, and it looks damn good. Oh, and let's not forget about Timex's other (very good) collabs, like the one with Wood Wood that dropped a little hidden cheekiness on the Indiglo nightlight.

Altogether, these releases—the new Timex + Todd Snyder Marlin very much included—paint a picture of a brand that's thriving, creating affordable and stylish watches for guys who are hungry for 'em. Maybe it's time you join in on the fun.
