Last week, it was announced that Uniqlo's mother company, Fast Retailing Inc., had acquired a minority stake in Lemaire, a Paris-based label designed by Sarah-Linh Tran and Christophe Lemaire. Speaking to the Business of Fashion, Fast Retailing chief executive Tadashi Yanai said that the acquisition was a way to "deepen our partnership with Mr. Lemaire even more," while Tran called it "a coherent and natural evolution of Fast Retailing’s relationship with the brand Lemaire."

They are of course, refering to a years-long partnership that started with a few collaborations and culminated in Uniqlo U, a recurring Uniqlo collection launched with Christophe Lemaire. U has been a popular branch of Uniqlo, because the clothes are just so damn good, season after season. One could argue that U takes everything we love about Uniqlo's affordable basics and elevates them by applying beautiful color palettes and modern silhouettes.

This upcoming Fall/Winter 2018 collection is no different. As usual, U has hoodies, T-shirts, chinos, trousers, jackets, and other outerwear, cut to be right balance of boxy and sleek, and drenched in vivid colors. Looks and product images from the collection have been released, so we can get a good idea of what to expect when it hits stores later this year:
