What Do Doraemon and Kanye West Have in Common?

Expect yet another solid collection of graphic tees from Uniqlo next month, as they've announced a Doraemon collaboration for their T-shirt brand, UT. After the release of their Shonen Jump collection earlier this week, it looks like the Japanese retailer has another big hit in store for Filipino otakus.
The collection is comprised of two separate groups of Doraemon graphics: one based on the manga, and one featuring the works of world-renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami for the 2017 Doraemon Exhibition in Tokyo. Murakami—who also happens to have designed the album art of Kanye West's third studio album, Graduation—uses his trademark psychedelic flower motif to depict the beloved robot cat. It's yet another of the high-low intermixtures of art that Murakami is known for, not unlike his eccentric creations as a long-time Louis Vuitton collaborator.
There are 15 items in the Doraemon UT collection, including kids' shirts and a Doraemon plush toy with Murakami art.
Here's the full men's collection, plus the plush toy (because you know, it's technically a Murakami sculpture, by some leap of the imagination):
