Yes, Brad Pitt Had a Ponytail at the Oscars
Brad Pitt turned up at the Academy Awards to present the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, which went to Yuh-Jung Youn for her role in Minari. This was a big deal—not only because the 73-year-old is both charming and devastating in Minari, but also because she is the first Korean woman to win the award. (Read about the Zoom dinner date between Youn and Esquire's Justin Kirkland.) After Pitt handed her the award, she said: "Mr. Brad Pitt—finally! Nice to meet you." Pitt grinned and laughed, revealing to the audience that he has a...ponytail.
When Youn was done accepting her historic Oscar, the newly minted Academy Award winner walked off stage with Pitt, and that's when the at-home audience got a good look at the ponytail.
Lately, Pitt's been the face of Brioni, appearing in a series of ads for the high-end Italian fashion brand. His hair is swept back off his face, but there's no sign of a ponytail.
However, close observers of Pitt will know he's been sporting one since at least February. Of course, this isn't the first time Pitt has worn one; in the early-to-mid '90s, he semi-frequently sported a ponytail. (See: Interview with the Vampire; Legends of the Fall.)

This current version might be for a role. Or it's the elusive Pandemic Ponytail. We've seen Pandemic Beards and Pandemic Mustaches, and plenty of grown-out pandemic hairstyles. But this might be the first instance of a Pandemic Ponytail. Bold move—one that few men can pull off. Brad Pitt is among the few.
