Johnny Depp's Dior Sauvage Is Now One of the Most Popular Fragrances in the World

About five years ago, brands were rushing to distance themselves from Johnny Depp, who at the time was the target of cancel culture. Before Johnny Depp won his defamation trial against Amber Heard in 2022, he lost a libel suit against Heard in 2020 and before that, lost the court of public opinion when Heard’s accusations against him first came out. 

Fast forward to 2022, and the actor has been vindicated and the tide of public opinion is in his court. So it should come as no surprise that anything associated with Johnny Depp at the moment is experiencing massive demand. One brand that didn’t drop Depp at his lowest was Dior, which received plenty of backlash for refusing to drop him when Warner Bros. did from the Fantastic Beasts series. 

But now, Dior has quickly become the second most popular brand in the world thanks to Sauvage, a men’s fragrance featuring Depp as its ambassador. Thanks to the actor’s fanbase, Sauvage has experienced a massive resurgence. According to WWD, Google searches for Sauvage have increased by 48 percent in just one month and TikTok views of the fragrance has increased by 63 percent.

Nothing like a public hearing to boost sales. 

The only fragrance to beat Sauvage is Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540, but Johnny Depp’s Sauvage did manage to beat out Chanel Number 5 and Dior’s Miss Dior.
