Stop What You're Doing Right Now And Look At What These Doggos Are Doing

Our four-legged buds take to the streets for a very important reminder.

Dogs have proven once again that they're much better than their best friend: you, the man who, at this very moment, is taking his umpteenth mini-break from the gnarly tower of paperwork on his desk.

On one recent and hopeful morning, a multi-breed crew of eight dogs made its way to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City to protest against animal testing. Of note, the doggy assembly earns the distinction of being the world’s first animal protest at the UN HQ. And as such, they came to do it right with protest signs and banners, all painted and in miniature.

On another (stylish) note, they taught us a lesson on how to wear a jaunty bandana, so not only are they take-action, do-gooder advocates, they're cool, too.

All fluffiness aside, this is serious stuff. The grooming products that you use as well as the beauty arsenal that your wife indulges in may have caused a lifetime of unnecessary fear and pain—which often culminates in death—to dogs and other furry friends. And it's all in the name of: “Will the new ingredients in this Time Erase Cream give you a rash?”

It's certainly baffling why, in this Wokest Age of Man, there remains many who have no qualms about subjecting the loyal, loving, and trusting dog to unbelievable horrors (we'll leave it up to you if you want to look up “animal testing” on the Internet), and it is even more woeful that 80 percent of countries still have no laws banning animal testing.

Or maybe we just don't know enough about what it really takes to create that tube of eye cream? Do big corporations really need to test on animals when alternative tests as well as a myriad of ingredients that have been proven safe for humans are available?

Which brings us to this made-you-look demonstration. In support of Forever Against Animal Testing, a campaign by The Body Shop and Cruelty Free International, the doggy protest puts the spotlight on the misdeeds of the beauty industry and, more important, encourages people the help stop animal testing by signing a global petition.

Join your voice against animal cruelty because, once the petition—which calls for an international convention to ban animal testing on cosmetics—reaches eight million signatures, it will be presented to the United Nations.

A few happy updates: In the last six months, the petition has gathered 4.1 million signatures, making it the biggest appeal of its kind, and already, The Body Shop and Cruelty Free International have met with UN officials to discuss the important issue.

If that's not enough to convince you to click and help, we'll let these doggos make the case against animal testing themselves:
