This Is the Real Reason Your Balls Smell Weird
There's nothing to be embarrassed about having a stinky smell in your groin area. It's natural. That doesn't mean, however, that you should just leave it that way. What about that hot date you have tonight?
So why, exactly, do those balls smell so bad?
According to board certified dermatologist Dr. Kenneth Tapalla, sweat is the main cause of that pungent smell. "Sweat doesn't have a particular smell, but when bacteria grows and feeds on it, that's when odor is developed and released."
How does this happen? "The sweat which we secrete has a sugar, which bacteria loves. When the bacteria eats the sugar, they then produce a bad odor in the form of a gas," he explains.
The easiest way to get rid of the odor is to put a premium on hygiene. Don't forget to wash your nether regions several times a day. "The more the area is kept clean, the less chance of bacteria growing and multiplying."
Keeping the area extra dry is also another way to prevent the smell from permeating. After taking a bath, make sure that you wipe the area dry. You can also use a blowdryer on a cool setting to ensure that thereâs no moisture left. Also, don't forget to wear clean (not tight!) underwear. Should you get lucky, you don't want to turn your romatic conquest off!
Here are some other fail-safe options for keeping your nuts in check:
Shave your pubic hair. The hair down there traps a lot of sweat, which, again, leads to bad odor. Shaving that area prevents sweat and bacteria from being stuck there. Be careful, though! You don't want to end up looking like a cheap porn star.
Exfoliate your balls. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells. Dead skin cells are where bacteria resides. You canÂuse an exfoliating cloth or loofah for this. Be gentle!
Use talcum powder. After drying your pubic area, sprinkle some talcum powder to keep your balls nice and dry all throughout the day.
Bathe at least twice a day. And donât forget to repeat steps 1 to 3 every single time.
