At the recent Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Singapore, Esquire got the chance to view the Swiss watch manufacturer's current collection. The selection of complicated watches on display was definitely a highlight, but it was the launch of six limited special-edition watches that really caught collectors' and enthusiasts' eyes. Exclusively made for the markets in Southeast Asia, the collection features a Minute Repeater Tourbillon, World Time Minute Repeater, World Time Chronograph, and an Aquanaut. (There were also some for the ladies.) These extraordinary timepieces impressively showcase the manufacturer's know-how and experience. The Minute Repeater Tourbillon Singapore 2019 Special Edition
Powered by the manually wound caliber R TO 27 PS, the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Singapore 2019 ref. 5303R-010 is limited to 12 watches. The grand complication is one that stands out thanks to its open dial that exposes the action even when worn.
The World Time Minute Repeater Singapore 2019 Special Edition
The World Time Minute Repeater Singapore 2019 ref. 5531R-010 is limited to five watches. The main highlight, of course, is the cloisonné enamel dial depicting a map of Singapore. But, the watch's many special features don't disappoint. There's the fact that it sounds the current local time in the city at the 12:00 position. Not to mention, the two gongs that optimize the quality of the sound and the self-winding mechanism.
The World Time Chronograph Singapore 2019 Special Edition
Black and red are the key elements of this white gold watch. (The two symbolize vitality, success, and good fortune.) Limited to 300 watches, the World Time Chronograph Singapore 2019 ref. 5930G-011 features one of Patek Philippe's very rare complications: a self-winding flyback chronograph and a World Time mechanism that shows all 24 time zones of our planet at a single glance.
The Aquanaut Singapore 2019 Special Edition
A modern and sporty interpretation of the Aquanaut, ref. 5167A-012 Aquanaut Singapore 2019, is done in steel with fiery red accents. More features of the 500-watch edition include a vertical satin finish, beveled flanks, and a self-winding caliber 324 S C.
