Tyler, The Creator & Casio

You can't really deny Tyler, The Creator's place among the company of select individuals who can dictate what works in an outfit in the big 2026.

The larger-than-life rapper, producer, and fashion behemoth is synonymous with eccentricity (and even dangerously crass levels in his Goblin and Cherry Bomb eras) and not giving two f*cks about what he says in his music or what he drapes on his skin.

He is always photographed wearing elegant, and even dainty, watches from Cartier, which he even raps about in his return to full-blown rap in Call Me If You Get Lost (2021).

One brief but crucial detour in his horological proclivities is his love for a dirt-cheap Casio Classic Analog Watch: MQ24-9B, which he rocked with a suit at several black-tie award shoes from 2019 to 2021.

The resin-made Casio watch bears a subtle gold/yellow/cream dial with a black integrated strap that results in an unassuming package that juxtaposes the rapper's esoteric threads.

It only weighs about 20 grams and measures 38.8 x 34.9 x 7.8 mm.

If you were to buy it at your local Casio boutique, the quartz piece will now set you back P2,240, almost a thousand pesos more than when Tyler started sporting it in public. Whether or not he was the sole driving factor for it going up in value, we won't be shocked if he was.

It's a no-brainer that someone like Tyler, who tends to reject a lot of the prototypical luxury run-of-the-mill flashy pieces from competitors like Rolex or even Audemars Piguet, has a penchant for the classy and often underrated pieces in the fashion realm.

He's already made his mark in his fashion with his own clothing projects Gold Wang (a clever anagram for Wolfgang), Golf Le Fleur, and his very own Louis Vuitton suitcase collection style adjacent to his creative idol Pharell Williams.

Tyler's obsession with Cartier goes on to his most recent outfits, where he wears vintage iterations or even new remixes of the Tank and the fabled Crash that is also synonymous with his style ethos.

If you want to cop the same Casio as the Top 5 rapper in the game right now, it might be a tad more difficult to come across the gold variant because of its popularity. We suggest you scour the secondhand markets that will likely land you a better deal if you're able to find one in good condition.
