With 24 days till Christmas, there's still a few weeks to show Santa Claus you've been nice. And if you haven't yet, you can start today.

Today, December 1, we celebrate generosity around the world.

Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or a stranger, speaking out about an issue we're passionate about, or sharing what we have with those who need our help, every act of generosity counts. Each one of us has something to give.

GivingTuesday began in 2012 as a global generosity movement with a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It’s grown into a movement for everyone one who wants to give back.

It's the first year for the Philippines to officially be part of the global movement, one of 60 countries participating.

How to participate in this year’s GivingTuesdayph:

Donate in cash or kind.

Post about the causes and non-profits you support on your social media channels.

In 2019, the movement garnered over 20 billion social media impressions worldwide, with GivingTuesday social media activity recorded in 211 countries and territories. In the U.S. alone, $511 million online donations were made on the day itself and 27 million adults (13% of the US population) participated in some way.

Partner institutions include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Facebook, Paypal, Salesforce, Coca Cola and JP Morgan. Individual partners include: Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Chris Evans, Avril Levigne and Tyra Banks.
