Will A Golden Pen Encourage You To Improve Your Handwriting?

Montblanc continues to push the boundaries of writing with new and better mechanisms. The German luxury house focuses its mastery on the nib, the soul of its writing instruments, by rendering it in gold.
In the Meisterstück Calligraphy Collection, Montblanc introduces the new Flex Nib. Made from gold, the Flex bends and spreads more easily, allowing for more elaborate and more expressive calligraphy. Depending on the pressure applied to the pen, the nib produces vertical lines varying from just 0.3mm to 1.4mm thick.
As a nod to the golden age of calligraphy and illumination (illuminated manuscripts were elaborate expressions of calligraphy), the collection also features gold leaf on its pens. Gold leaf is applied to the black lacquer cap and barrel of the instruments and then covered by a translucent lacquer. Of note, the gold leaf of the Meisterstück Calligraphy Collection is hand-applied, giving each piece its very own character.
The collection presents a Fountain Pen with the 18K solid gold flexible Expression Nib, a Fountain Pen Le Grand with the standard Meisterstück 18K ruthenium-coated nib, and a Rollerball Le Grand. Any of these fine instruments will compel you to take more care when writing on paper.
