The World Time watch, also commonly referred to as the Heure Universelle, has remained one of the watchmaker’s most coveted complicated wrist watches for almost 80 years, but modern times call for a few welcome aesthetic tweaks, such as a pierced hour hand designed to evoke the Southern Cross constellation and a considerably slimmer case.

The Patek Philippe World Time watch is available in 18-karat white gold and rose gold.
Showcasing all 24 world time zones at a glance on its sapphire crystal face, the timepiece displays the local time at your city of choice most prominently above the 12 o’clock arrow. The remaining 23 time zones can be read on the 24-hour ring that rotates counterclockwise within the disc displaying the cities.
This ingenious functionality can be attributed to a 1930s invention by Genevan watchmaker Louis Cottier. The user-friendly timepiece is only 3.88 millimeters thick, thanks to the design of the winding rotor, patented in 1977. This makes the complex inner-workings of the World Time watch more compact but equally as capable as previous models.
