How The Spoiled Mummy Grace Baja's Delicious Food Line Came to Be

When Grace Baja “accidentally” launched her first food offering for Taste by Grace Home last year, she was surprisingly caught off guard.
Baja, also known as The Spoiled Mummy, introduced the line at the annual ArteFino Bazaar in Rockwell without any press or fanfare, and it was a runaway hit from day one.

Also in the offering are three ready-to-serve spreads, Manchego Curado with Almond Olive Tapenade, Quattro Formaggio with Pink Peppercorns, and Organic Chicken Liver Paté with Pistachio Praline. An easy-to-bake, frozen Luxe Cookie Dough made with 70% Ecuadorian Dark Chocolate rounds out the assortment with something to satisfy every sweet tooth.
Although the marketing-savvy Spoiled Mummy had originally joined ArteFino to showcase her candles, SKIN line, and other homeware, she decided at the last minute to include her then newly developed Taste by Grace Home food products in her lineup. “ArteFino’s captured market was perfect for my line but little did I know that the response would be as overwhelming as it was,” she says. “I was very nervous—I knew what tasted good to me but I had no way of knowing if other people would like it since taste is so subjective. By the second day of the bazaar, I became more confident because of all the positive comments people were giving me. People were posting on social media and I was completely sold out each day.”
What had originally started as a home accessory collection with naturally scented candles and room sprays to complement Baja's blog, The Spoiled Mummy, has since evolved into a full line of porcelain, crystal, ceramics, and table linens, as well as a SKIN line sourced from around the world under the Grace Home label.
“I came to a point where I had built a loyal following for my candles and Skin line, but I was beginning to get bored," she says. “I needed to do something new and exciting to share with my friends and followers and so, since I originally started as a food blog, I decided to pursue a line of delicious, nicely packaged, items that would represent all that Grace Home is about.”
Grace takes much pride in the quality of the ingredients used in all of her products. Her cheese-pairing jams are natural and preservative
“I order everything myself and I’m very hands-on. The pistachios are from Dubai, the black grapes are from Australia and the black truffles are from Italy. So as you can see, knowing the ingredients alone and where I sourced them, you can be assured that you are getting only the most premium and high-quality food products available,” she says.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Baja is already preparing is already preparing for Taste by Grace Home's second wave of success and will launch a new range of products at the upcoming ArteFino Bazaar to be held from August 30 to September 2, at 8 Rockwell.
“Without giving too much away I can say that this will be a healthier line using all organic ingredients and I will be labeling the three to four main products as such. Packaging will be similar to my original line yet it will be distinct to identify it as its own collection,” she says.
Baja also reveals she is working on a special Christmas release that will be a 'holiday-only' offering.
“I think this special Christmas item will be super
