Many people consider the Mercedes-Benz flagship S-Class to be the benchmark by which all other luxury sedans are measured. It has been the preferred car of heads of state, captains of industry, and celebrities. Auto Nation Group, Inc. (ANG), the official importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the country, officially unveiled the seventh generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class. As the flagship, this model always has dibs on what future tech and innovations to expect from the brand, giving us a glimpse of what future Mercedes-Benz cars would be like.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class follows a long and rich tradition of building the best flagship saloons that goes back to the start of the 20th century. Its core brand values of luxury, comfort and safety were imprinted in its DNA long before the official introduction of the S-Class designation in 1972. Each generation of these flagship models contain some innovations and class-leading features that eventually wind up across all models.
The seventh-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class is no different in this respect. Mercedes-Benz says it is shaping the next generation of contemporary and individual mobility with innovations that focus on people, making the S-Class more thoughtful to its passengers, more in tune with its driver and everyone inside the car, and more protective of those within or even near its elegant presence.
“The new S-Class has undergone the most extensive refinement process in the history of Mercedes-Benz,” says Frankie Ang, Chief Operating Officer at Auto Nation Group, Inc. “The brand did to the new S-Class what it does best: putting the customers in the center. It can now be experienced with all the senses—seeing, feeling, hearing, and smelling—while offering impressive innovations in the areas of driver assistance, protection, and interaction.”
At first glance, just like models from the previous generation, the all-new S-Class is designed as a classical sedan with perfect proportions, so this car will age well. Some of the key dimensions have grown: a longer bonnet with short overhang, long wheelbase, while its flowing C-Pillar and balanced rear overhang gives it a more coupe-like profile. On the hood, the classic tri-star hood ornament, which is a signature for the brand’s saloons, gives it a very stately posture.

Here are some of the coolest innovations of the S-Class:
The new face of the S-Class comes with a pair of highlights that has over a million pixels per headlamp. These innovative Digital Light Headlights and its new ‘three-dot design’ provides optimal lighting for every situation while driving, further enhancing safety and visibility. It now comes with seamless door handles that will automatically pop out and extend when you approach the car and retracts when the doors are locked, making the door handles flushed completely with the exterior door panels.
Inside, Mercedes-Benz made sure comfort is an absolute priority in the new S-Class. The rear seats have extendable leg rests and a massage feature. The cabin side panels and seats are clad with the finest nappa leather with elegant diamond patterns. The rear passengers can enjoy the high-end rear seat entertainment system and two fully integrated 11.6-inch touch displays that is paired with the Burmester 3D surround sound system with a total of 15 speakers as they watch movies or browse the internet in the comfort of their seats. The cabin’s Active Ambient Lighting is designed to give a serene ambiance to suit each passenger’s mood but not to a point that would distract the driver. The light play is said to be able to give a feel-good vibe while on the road as well as give warnings in case of imminent danger.
The new S-Class’s interior architecture is inspired by a yacht-like design concept, and is equipped with exquisite materials and fine surfaces befitting the flagship model. The 12.3-inch OLED touchscreen at the centerpiece of the cockpit with the updated MBUX system also got smarter, with artificial intelligence that allows it to get to know you better and keeps on learning. Its steering wheel can recognize the owner’s fingerprint and remember personal settings and can even respond to his or her natural voice.

It has a top speed of 250kph.
