The 2017 Audi Q3 is a mean-looking compact crossover

Get to know the four rings' latest SUV.

Earlier this year, Audi introduced the 2017 edition of its compact SUV, the Q3. Today, Filipino fans of the four rings have reason to celebrate, because it’s arrived and available here as well.

The most striking of its updates are aesthetic: The new Q3 was honed with coupe-like lines throughout the body, giving it a sleek, sporty, but considerable look. The front-end in particular is worth noting for its expressive features: Audi’s Singleframe grille, along with the LED daytime running lights and the headlights with Xenon plus technology, leave a strong impression.

Inside, the Q3 has an all-black leather interior and Audi’s MMI infotainment system. With the rear seats down, it can fit 1,365L of luggage space.

Under the hood, the new Audi Q3 is powered by a 1.4 TFSI engine that delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It has a six-speed, S tronic dual-clutch transmission that helps it go from zero to 100 in 8.9, with a top speed of 204 km/h.

Apart from its good looks, the all-new Q3 puts a premium on comfort and agility. Under the chassis are some fine-tuning features that help in these departments. The front suspension is composed of MacPherson struts with forged aluminium lower wishbones and a cast aluminium subframe; while the rear suspension, on the other hand, is a four-link set-up.

Altogether, the Q3 is looking like an ideal city crossover: It’s considerably smaller than the Q5, bearing an almost coupe-like aesthetic appeal. Plus, it’s designed for a pleasant drive that promises not to hold punches should you decide to take it out of town. All that is yours for P3.19 million.
