See How Aga, Coco, and Other Celebs Accessorize Their Bikes
Have you seen the jaw-dropping chase scene of Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) evading a pack of police cars on board a BMW R nineT Scrambler in the hit movie Mission: Impossible–Fallout?
If you find Hunt and his bike sexy, wait until you see the six Pinoy celebrities riding their equally hot R nineTs that they had customized according to their own tastes. Aside from owning an R nineT, these six actors share another common denominator: They all bring their stallions to just one shop in Quezon City for customization work.
Father and son tandem Opoy and Jordan Gaw are the source of the aftermarket accessories—Wunderlich from Germany, or Unit Garage from Italy. Immediately after rolling out of the dealership, these R nineTs–all powered by the punchy 1200cc boxer engine--found their way to the CBX Trading Shop at Scout Borromeo St. in Quezon City.
The six of variants R nineT that are locally available are priced from P940,000 (Pure) to P1,230,000 (Classic). That’s a lot of money. “The R nineT is now the second-best seller after the BMW R 1200 GS adventure bike,” says Gil Balderas, director of BMW Motorrad Philippines.
Opoy and Jordan shared with us the 10 most-sought-after R nineT accessories from their shop. These include the oil- cooler fan, oil-cooler guard, crash guard, quick-release bag, sliders, exhaust system, custom seats, fog lights, handle bar and windscreen. If you’re curious how much these items cost, we’d rather keep our lips sealed. We don't want these guys to get into trouble with their wives.
Here are the stunning retro machines of our local celebrities:
1) Coco Martin (Unit Garage)
2| Aga Muhlach (Unit Garage)
3|Mark Lapid (Unit Garage)
4| Jericho Rosales (Wunderlich)
