Vespa's Upgraded Editions of The Granturismo Sport is a Cool Way to Spend Your Aguinaldo

Just in time for Christmas—the one time of the year that you won't absolutely hate yourself for dropping a couple hundred thousand on a whim—Vespa Philippines launched the upgraded versions of its modern classic: the Granturismo Sport Super, or the GTS Super.

The GTS is said to express the most dynamic side of the Vespa brand, with details and features like a grill with right-side graphics, wheel rims with a new black diamond finish, new front suspension, new analog and digital instrumentation with red backlighting and a sporty graphic, a USB port, and a bike finder system.

The 150 and 300 labels denote respective engines: A new, liquid-cooled 150cc engine for maximum efficiency, silence, and eco-friendliness; and a more powerful 300cc engine that also complies with Euro 4 regulations.

But really, the greatest thing about any Vespa is its inherent and unimpeachable style. The mere thought of riding a Vespa suggests well-dressed Sunday afternoons in a faraway beach town, fetching artisanal coffee from the local shop. Nevermind the engine, or that the bike has some pretty cool, cutting-edge features, and is better for the environment than most motorcycles—all you need to know is that you'd look damn cool while making that coffee run.

Both the 150 and the 300 come in four colorways each, all with really cool Italian names. Why buy a green scooter when you can buy one that's Verde Speranza—or a black one, when you can have Nero Vulcano?

Our brothers at Top Gear Philippines have reported that the Vespa GTS Super 150 goes for P250,000; while the GTS Super 300 goes for P345,000. So maybe take out that Bitcoin investment and put it to something that you can actually enjoy.
