Here's How Filipino Musicians Can Apply for Taiwan's Golden Indie Music Awards

Taiwan's 17th Golden Indie Music Awards is now accepting applications for its Best Asian Creative Artist Award. A coveted prize that independent Filipino musicians and groups are eligible to throw their hat in the ring for from June 1 to July 1.
In case you haven't heard of the award, the program is organized by Taiwan's Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development under the Ministry of Culture and will be held at the Taipei Music Center. The Best Asian Artist Award has been handed out to music creators and groups outside of Taiwan across Asia, with notable winners including South Korea's Silica Gel, Indonesia's .Feast and Rich Brian, and Japan's Age Factory and ATARASHII GAKKO!
The Filipino indie music scene is booming right now with the surge of new and returning outfits putting out their most compelling and ambitious record to date.
Any interested Filipino musician or group can submit their application via GIMA's official online portal here.
The eligibility window covers albums and EPs released between July 1 last year and June 30 this year, with at least 70 percent of the lyrics or music produced to have been created and performed by the applicant. For EPs, these have to be fully produced and written by the applicant.
The awards ceremony has also become the arena for cross-border musical tie-ups and collaborations, such as last year's joint performance between Thai rapper AUTTA and Taiwanese indie band The Chairs, with Silica Gel appearing as both performers and presenters.
