Mateus Asato

Brazilian-Japanese guitar savant Mateus Asato is finally coming to Manila with his signature blend of transcendent melodic guitar stylings from his much-anticipated full-length LP Asato.

This tour, produced and presented by GNN, is also coming at the heels of his unprecedented deal with Fender Guitars that saw fans in awe with a potential new signature offset guitar in Oxblood with the legendary guitar brand, even after years of the brand he became synonymous with, Suhr.

We've been major fans of Asato ever since his magical cover of "Don't Dream It's Over," a video that we are certain has inspired a whole generation of kids who grew on the internet to pick up and play the guitar. Some may say actually playing instruments have become a lost art with everything being so overproduced in this day and age.

The living guitar god will be playing at the Aster Events Place in Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City, on July 31 to perform his guitar chops that are infused with the soulful flair of R&B, jazz, pop, and, of course, the blues.

With more and more guitar wizards popping up, like the off-kilter brilliance of Michael Gordon "Mk.gee," Asato stands on top as someone who has used guitar melodies as an extension of his being.

"Hendrix," for example, is one of his latest songs from the new LP, and it actually sounds like someone honoring one of the great pillars of music history, Jimi Hendrix, while embracing his own identity and a distinction in his artistry.

Asato has played with some of the biggest pop stars in the world, such as Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, and Tori Kelly.

If you're in town for one of the world's premier guitar specialists, get your tickets to Mateus Asato here.
