Casio's Tanky New G-Shock Line Promises All-Weather Durability For Maximum Daily Driver Potential

For generations now, Casio has built its reputation on pillars of value for money, the elusive bang-for-your-buck factor, durability, and that universal respect and charm that even the snobbiest watch collectors can't demean.

The Philippines is an obvious market where the 'sulit-factor,' or the street smart shopper, would go for cheaper alternatives for luxury watch models that are worlds apart in price.

The Japanese watchmaking giant sets itself apart with the now legendary G-Shock line that you can bet your sweet behind you had when you were growing up.

Manila will always geographically have volatile weather conditions that would make you think twice about rocking your grail pieces out in the wild, which is why beater pieces are being seen as essential now more than ever.

Casio's updated lineup of G-Shock all-weather collections includes the GA-010, GA-100, GA-140, and GA-140-1A4, among other pieces.

To give you a better picture of how tanky these guys are, you get 200-meter water resistance and G-Shock's signature shock-resistant construction, which is said to handle sudden rain, crowded trains, jeeps, or UV Express Vans.

A lot of the other variants like the GA-140-1A1 also lean on a retro street fashion ethos at P8,860, and others like the GA-100 line favor a more oversized rugged case design with nod sto classic boomboxes and portable sterios of the '80s and '90s.
