Sandwich to Open for Pixies' Manila Show in May
Sandwich dropped a full-Tagalog EP last year called Kaswal.

Filipino rock royalty and powerhouse quintet Sandwich will get the ball rolling for the Pixies' Manila show in May. Local show organizer Karpos Live made the announcement on its official social media page, which just adds fuel to the surging hype for one of the most anticipated gigs to start off the year.
"One of the most influential bands in Philippine alternative rock, Sandwich brings their signature creative and high-energy performances to kick off the night," it said in the post.
The frenetic five-piece Filipino rock band composed of boisterous frontman Raymund Marasigan, guitarists Diego Castillo and Mong Alcaraz, bassist Myrene Academia, and drummer Mike Dizon is best known for classic hits "Sugod," "Betamax," and "2 Trick Pony."
These are some of the grittiest and catchiest indie rock OPM cuts that still hold up incredibly well, thanks to an undyingly loyal fanbase.
The alternative rock group is also coming off the release of Kaswal (2025), which landed on Esquire Philippines' 10 Best Local Albums and EPs of 2025.
It is an EP that was top to bottom with fuzzy, against-the-grain Tagalog tracks that saw the band also experiment with a bunch of reggae sound profiles as they get back into releasing new projects and more cohesive records in the near future.

Tickets for the Pixies show went on sale last November 13 and you can still buy tickets here.
The show only has General Admission tickets since it's standing room only at the tent and will go for P4,450 (inclusive of ticket service fees).
