The spirit of May the Fourth lives on as Film Concerts PH just announced Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert at the Theatre at Solaire on September 5 and 6 this year.

Star Wars as a franchise has always been known for the genius of John Williams at the helm of setting the intergalactic ambiance of a world far, far away.

Prolific local maestro Gerard Salonga will be bringing these iconic setpieces from the finale of the original trilogy to life with the 85-member Filharmonika Orchestra at his disposal.

The two concert days are licensed by Disney Concerts and are the third iteration of Film Concerts PH's Star Wars series, previously headlined by Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert in September 2024 and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert in August 2025.

Williams had earned a Grammy for his work on the Emperor's theme, Ewok battle sequences, the throne room duel, and the final celebration of defeating the empire.

The Manila-based Filharmoka Orchestra was founded in 2005 by Salonga and was revived in 2024, with many of the members coming from the former ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra. He currently serves as resident conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and music director of the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth Film Concerts PH, which primarily handles events tied to film, video game, anime, and television properties.

You can get tickets starting on May 19 via here.
