The Halloween Parties in Metro Manila This Weekend, Including One That Ends by Midnight
Our no-nonsense Halloween roadmap has room for the Nikkis from Obsession, Green Lanterns, Odysseuses, Bryans from the new Resident Evil, and a party that gets you home at a reasonable hour.

You're never too old to go out with your friends in semi-biblically accurate renditions and interpretations of your favorite pop culture figures that are still somehow socially relevant. Last year, we chronicled the typical unadulterated debauchery that goes on during the Philippine spooky season, particularly in the petri dish of sweat and characters in the heart of Makati.
As we approach the end of the year, you can expect the usual cast of Jokers, Patrick Bateman, and Squid Game guards to turn up on schedule, now joined by this year’s arrivals from the multiplex and the streaming queue.
This year is expected to have your horde of Bears and Nikkis from the smash-hit male loneliness epidemic horror film Obsession. Other low-effort costumes for you would likely consist of civilian clothes, Hal Jordan, Green Lanterns, a douchey Odysseus who may likely have missed the point of the epic, and a multiverse of Spidermen and Peter Parkers looking to stop the most egregious crime of all: formidable body odor.
Consider this your all-inclusive guide to reasonably loud shindigs for you folks who have varying tolerance levels for nonsense and tomfoolery around the Metro and those who want to get home before the sun rises.
1| TRENTAHIN: HOME BY 12MN, Oct. 31

Our first part on the list is one of the most unique and one of the most forgiving for those who still want to cling on to the currency of youth without worsening the physiological reckoning they are already seeing signs of (chronic back pain, borderline narcolepsy, and an aversion to loud noises)
Trentahin: Home by 12 mm is the first Halloween edition of the first Saturday party for the 30-and-over crowd, which runs from 8 p.m. at The Fun Roof, 4/F Matheus Building, 5382 General Luna, Poblacion, Makati, with DJ Mars Miranda on hip-hop and R&B and a theme drawn from 90s Filipino horror like Shake, Rattle & Roll and the Halloween specials of Magandang Gabi... Bayan. The door charge is P500 with one drink. Advance tables are fully booked, and walk-ins are first-come, first-served, with entry not guaranteed. The organizers report 4,689 guest visits across five editions.
And in case it wasn't obvious, the folks at Nextperience Group who organized this truly self-aware function completely resonate with Manila's millenials, Gen Xers, and even the so-called Zillenials who can't decide which generation they belong to.
2| SLEEPLESS: The Afterlife, Oct. 31

This one is for the ravers and EDM enjoyers out there who are probably already going to what Sleepless Production is billing as "Manila's No. 1 Premium Halloween Party," as it boasts a lineup of international DJs and EDM acts that goes the polar opposite direction of TRENTAHIN.
The Afterlife at Green Sun Makati starts at 9 pm and goes up to 4 am, headlined by international EDM duo Firebeatz, Filipino DJs Justin San and Ven Ponce, and Ace Ramos , whom the promoters bill as one of the Philippines’ most iconic EDM DJs, for a closing set, and the organizers count nine DJs across seven hours.
3| Madness Manor, Oct. 31

This is yet another EDM and hard-style party in Poblacion, Makati, on Halloween Day dubbed as the Biggest Halloween Party in the area. Madness Manor will be at Stratosphere Events Place or the fourth floor of Century City Mall for a glorified haunted-mansion party that isn't shying away from the goofiness and campiness of the holiday. I mean, what else do you actually want when you want to actually let off some steam in your haphazardly put together outfit.
4| PONG DISTRICT AFTERLIFE, Oct 30-31

Also in Poblacion (which isn't really surprising), Pong District Manila still leans on its particular niche of beer pong gaming enthusiasts who want to dress up for Halloween for two days. The joint is known for its Wednesday Pong Wars, which actually brings out the competitiveness of those sharpshooting party boys who also enjoy a good rave.
Pong District Manila is located at 5353 Mariano St. Gen. Luna Ave., Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City.
5| HAUNTED NIGHTS, OCT. 31

Our last entry on the list isn't in Makati for change and is located in the one place where a zombie apocalypse could look pretty picturesque. Haunted Nights at Vibe Bar and Restaurant in Arcovia City, Pasig City,, turns its View Deck into a party from 9 p.m., with DJs JC Llamas, Teejay Subahri, and Lhudwig, at P700 for walk-ins with a free drink or P1,500 a head for a table. The Jokers, Patrick Batemans and Squid Game guards who mob Poblacion every year will have to cross the metro to reach it, which thins the field of pop culture references considerably and spares a man the usual queue for the usual convenience store, since the evening comes with its own bar. Walk-ins pay P700 and get one free drink, a cover charge with a consolation prize attached, while a table runs P1,500 per person, which buys a chair, a surface for the drink, and a better angle from which to regard the P700 crowd.
