The watch collecting and car customization hobbies, when juxtaposed via a Venn diagram, often have that intersection of enthusiasts who are pedantic about all things vintage and how they don't make things like they used to.
Citizen hit the nail on the head with its latest refresh of an automotive-inspired quartz piece from 1982 called the Ana-Digi Temp, now fashioned to look like a vintage Honda Prelude's dashboard.

With the so-called return of the analog aesthetic associated with tech from the 1980s and 1990s, the gearhead-inspired nostalgia is exactly the spark Citizen is tapping into. In case you missed it, this is celebrating the release of Honda's newest 6th-generation Prelude Coupe after years of clamor from passionate collectors.
The watch is hardly just a throwback cash grab for passionate collectors. It is an honest-to-goodness snazzy digital watch that sets itself apart from the largely unchanged Casio-dominated digital watch space.

The retro-driven timepiece bears two clock faces labeled "A1" and "A2," featuring a 12-hour dial with two hands and a speedometer-inspired display with running seconds to keep time, as well as alternative modes, respectively.
For the nitty-gritties, the watch is 32.5mm wide, 40.6mm long, and 8mm thick. This is all encased in a stainless steel case with a solid caseback with a Prelude logo engraved on it.
The watch is powered by a Citizen Caliber 8989 quartz movement with a generous 50m of water resistance. The 2026 Ana-Digi Temp collab comes in a plain stainless steel with white panda dial colorway, and another blacked-out option. Both of these unique pieces come in a fancy red box with a Prelude logo and a removable photo of the Japanese juggernaut's new coupe
