MG Motor Philippines has officially launched the all-new MG HS Hybrid+ in the Philippine market, a move that underscores the brand's pivot toward hybrid and new energy vehicles.
Featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a high-output electric motor and a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), it has a combined output of 224 PS with 340 Nm of torque and a top speed of 190 km/h.
The 5-seater compact SUV has a boot capacity of 441 liters, expandable to 1,291 liters with the seats folded down. Consumption is rated at 21.55 km/lite,r which makes it a practical urban and out-of-town commute.

In terms of comfort, technology, and safety, the HS Hybrid+ is well-equipped: dual 12.3-inch digital displays for its instrument cluster and infotainment systems, it also supports smartphone mirroring for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless charging.
Creature comforts and safety features include dual-zone climate control with an air purifier, a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory, panoramic sunroof, hands-free power tailgate, privacy glass, and a full suite of modern safety/driver-assist features via MG Pilot (adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, 360° camera, among others). Moreover, it meets 5-star safety ratings from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
Available exterior colors at launch include Black Pearl, Lunar Gray, Pearl White, Champagne Silver, and Diamond Red, as announced at the launch. It has an introductory price of P1,388,888, which is P10,000 lower than the regular retail price of P1,398,888. This sits comfortably in the compact crossover and SUV segment as a good value-for-money product, offering number coding-free motoring and a good alternative to more traditional brands and nameplates.

MG's Pavilion in BGC
To coincide with the HS Hybrid+ launch and to highlight its broader push into new-energy and hybrid mobility, MG Philippines opened the MG Pavilion in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig. The Pavilion runs from November 2025 to January 2026, serving as a three-month immersive brand experience.
It features a display of MG's full mobility portfolio from hybrid, electric (EV), gasoline, to its diesel models. Its interactive zones include hybrid technology exhibits, a British heritage installation paying homage to MG's roots, exclusive brand merchandise, and customer lounges, all designed to give visitors a lifestyle-centric experience.
Visitors are invited for test drives of the latest MG models. MG will also host holiday-themed events, aligning with BGC's festive season, with giveaways and limited-time offers.
The arrival of the HS Hybrid+ and the Pavilion fits into a broader growth trend for MG in the local market. In 2024, MG posted its highest-ever annual sales of over 9,000 units sold, which elevated it to the ninth best-selling automotive brand in the country. In the first half of 2025, MG sold 4,632 units, reflecting an almost 18 percent year-on-year increase. Last year, it announced that in a few years, it aims to be one of the top five best-selling automotive brands.
These numbers signal increasing consumer acceptance and growing confidence in MG, particularly as the brand expands its new energy vehicle (NEV) lineup, incorporating hybrids and EVs. After a change in distribution ownership in 2023, the year when SAIC Motor Philippines, Inc. (SMP) became the official distributor/importer, MG has expanded its dealership network to 46 dealerships and is targeting 50 by next year.
This expansion, in tandem with introducing new energy vehicle models, means that MG is positioning itself not only to capture market share among value-oriented mainstream buyers but also among those seeking greener, more efficient transportation solutions.
