Huawei's latest lineup launch at The Fifth in Rockwell last February 19 sent a message to the global tech world that the Chinese tech firm is gunning for the title of the most fashion-forward tech company in the current space. The MVP of the new lineup is clearly

The company's so-called "King of Foldables," the Mate X7. When these folding phones first came out a couple of years ago, many of us saw it as a gimmick that just degraded the durability of these beautiful devices. The Mate X7 is a testament to tech players getting a handle on the whole knock against foldable hinges.

The Mate X7: A Leather-Bound King

The Chinese company goes straight into aerospace-grade build materials for their latest flagship, from the hinge, frame, and both screens. It would also tank hot water up to 80°C and fresh water up to two meters deep with IP ratings of 59 and 58 respectively for both screens.

Huawei is also calling the Mate X7 the first foldable with the camera specs to actually compete with flagship bar phones, as it sports a 50-megapixel Telephoto Macro Camera that handles everything from wide landscapes to the micro-details of ultra close-up shots.

It is also equipped with a 5,600 milliampere-hour battery with 66-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging to keep it running all day. The fashion-forward flair with this new phone is the eight-inch screen wrapped in premium vegan leather that screams luxury tech with all the functionality of flagships.

You can pre-order the Mate X7 at P119,999, with freebies worth up to P45,998 if you do so before Feb. 26.

"The best thing about it is that all these groundbreaking features are housed in a sleek, fashionable profile that makes a statement," Huawei Chief Experience Officer and local A-lister Jericho Rosales said during the launch. "The expansive screen is helpful for when I need to be productive."

The MatePad 11.5 S: A True Laptop Killer

Huawei also revealed its MatePad 11.5 S 2026, its latest tablet poised to be your next laptop replacement device. A so-called laptop killer, the tablet has a powerful 2.8k PaperMatte panel running at a high refresh rate of 144Hz, pre-loaded with PC-Level WPS Office 3.0, and a bunch of neat tech that would make getting work done a breeze.

It is a 4-in-1 system that involves a tablet, smart magnetic keyboard, M-Pencil 3rd gen, and a bluetooth mouse communicating with each other via a next-gen wireless system called NearLink technology. It is a heavy workhorse of a tablet with an 8,800mAh battery and 40W SuperCharge.

So, it will last you a while before needing to hunt for that outlet mid-presentation. Huawei is billing the tablet as a PC-like device with a paper-like screen experience suitable for portable work and entertainment. Early bird pricing brings it down to P29,999 from P31,999, with a full accessory bundle included.

The FreeClip 2: The Sleeper Hit of the Audio Space

It's hard to believe that in the past decade, truly wireless earbuds have taken over the consumer tech space in different shapes and sizes to accommodate the human ear. It's now the clip-on form factor that is making waves due to the secure, comfortable open-ear fit that prioritizes fit and workout-friendly functionality.

Huawei's new FreeClip 2 is truly the sleeper hit of the entire launch as it boasts high-performance shape-memory alloy that makes for a stylish and highly convenient call device for all-day listening. If we're talking drivers, it is equipped with a dual-diaphragm driver powered by an NPU AI Processor and a three-mic noise cancellation system for crystal clear calls.
