A New Tablet, Wearables, and Foldable Phone: Here’s the Latest from Huawei
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia—Huawei unveiled its latest mobile devices at a launch event here last week. The announcements highlighted a new tri-fold smartphone, a productivity-focused tablet, and additions to its audio and wearable lines. There was no immediate information on when the new devices would be made available to consumers in the Philippines, but we’re hopeful it would be soon.
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design
The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is the Chinese brand’s newest foldable phone. Its tri-fold design is a key feature, with the company emphasizing its thin profile (3.6mm unfolded) and large 10.2-inch unfolded display. The phone incorporates a newly designed hinge system, durable ultra-thin glass, and the ability to fold both inward and outward. Photography enthusiasts will find the Ultra Aperture Xmage Camera, featuring an adjustable aperture, a notable addition.

Huawei MatePad Pro
For users focused on productivity, Huawei introduced the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch (2025). The tablet's 13.2-inch display boasts 2.8K resolution and up to 1,000 nits of brightness. The brand has included PC-level WPS Office for document editing and spreadsheet work, along with a desktop mode. There are pre-installed applications like Notes and GoPaint that cater to creative tasks. A 10,100 mAh battery with fast charging aims to keep users powered throughout the day.

Huawei also expanded its audio offerings with the FreeArc open-ear TWS earbuds. The design prioritizes comfort with an ergonomic shape, a titanium alloy ear hook, and a soft silicone finish. The earbuds feature a 17x12mm driver for audio output and carry an IP57 water resistance rating.

On the wearables front, the Huawei Band 10 emphasizes wellness tracking. It offers enhanced sleep and emotional wellbeing assistants, providing personalized insights and recommendations. Interactive watch faces are also included.

At the event, Huawei also announced upcoming support for e-wallet QR code payments on select wearables. It was revealed during the global launch that GCash will be available in their wallet payment so I guess we will soon be expecting this to roll out in the Philippines soon.
