A new Hotel 101 is set to rise in the Australian city of Melbourne, the latest in the chain of hotels from listed company DoubleDragon Corp., the company announced on Tuesday (January 20).
Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp.—DoubleDragon’s hospitality arm and now a Nasdaq-listed company trading under the ticker HBNB—confirmed that it has entered into definitive agreements to develop Hotel101-Melbourne along Flinders Lane, one of the Australian city’s most coveted addresses. The project, expected to be completed by 2029, will have 766 rooms in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district.

The Hotel101 site sits within walking distance of Flinders Street Station, Southern Cross Station, and the Southbank entertainment precinct, placing guests near Federation Square, the Yarra River, and the city’s major sports and arts venues.
The Melbourne deal comes at a moment of growing momentum for Hotel101 Global. Earlier this month, the company reached its highest equity valuation to date at $2.34 billion (approximately P139 billion), reinforcing investor confidence in its standardized “condotel” business model. That valuation also feeds into DoubleDragon’s broader balance sheet, pushing the group’s total equity value to P101.3 billion, backed largely by prime, titled real estate assets in strategic locations.
Hotel 101’s strategy is deliberately asset-light, generating revenues twice; first through the sale of individual hotel units during construction, and second through long-term recurring income from hotel operations, which are managed through a centralized, tech-enabled platform.

Similar to other Hotel101 properties, the Melbourne hotel is designed to offer consistent 4-star amenities at accessible price points. Plans include modern standardized rooms, 24/7 reception, all-day dining, a swimming pool, full-size gym, business center, meeting and conference facilities, a rooftop bar, and ample parking—features intended to appeal equally to business travelers and tourists.
The new Melbourne location is the latest in the rapidly expanding Hotel101 portfolio. To date, the brand has six completed and operating Hotel101 properties in the Philippines, including locations in Metro Manila, Boracay, Clark, and Davao.
Outside of the country, Hotel101 has multiple international projects signed and under development, spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Announced projects include Niseko, Japan; Madrid, Spain; Los Angeles, California, USA; and locations in Saudi Arabia, and Cambodia. The properties will be developed through joint ventures and licensing agreements.
In total, the company has more than a dozen Hotel101 properties either completed or in various stages of construction and development worldwide. More locations are expected to be announced as the company is committed to stick to its goal of being present in as many countries in the world as possible.
Hotel101’s international growth complements DoubleDragon’s broader real estate portfolio, which spans office towers, retail developments, logistics hubs, and mixed-use projects across the Philippines. As of September 30, 2025, the company reported consolidated net income of P2.55 billion for the first nine months of the year, with revenues up nearly 63 percent year-on-year and a conservative net debt-to-equity ratio of 0.84x.
