Maya Is Making Crypto More Accessible to Filipinos With This Promo

Cryptocurrency is already a part of our financial reality — and it is likely here to stay. In the simplest terms, cryptocurrency is digital or virtual currency maintained by a decentralized system. Some use it to make transactions online; others hold on to their cryptocurrencies and wait for their value to increase then sell them for profit.

According to former BSP Governor Benjamin E. Diokno, these transactions were valued at around P106 billion. And according to Finder’s Cryptocurrency Adoption Index published in August 2022, Bitcoin is the most preferred cryptocurrency of 40 percent of Filipinos who use crypto tokens.

Reports have predicted that cryptocurrency will become “mainstream.” With more Filipinos embracing cashless payment and digital technologies, it won’t be long before Bitcoin and other crypto tokens become more familiar among the general population.
