Since 2004, Carsten has been reporting about wars, conflict, human rights and social issues in Africa and Asia. He is a writer and photographer based in Manila. He has worked with the Phnom Penh Post in Cambodia, and the Myanmar Times in Burma. His client list is diverse, from Playboy, to Amnesty International.
