After his first Senate stint in 2013 that left its mark through landmark laws such as the Go Negosyo Act and the Free College Education Act, Senator Bam Aquino suffered a stinging loss in 2019 that left his future in government service in doubt. However, in May 2025, he won the second-most number of votes in the Senate race, staging a comeback against the odds that rode on an unstoppable wave of mostly youth voters, and surprising even his allies.
