Carlo Aquino Reunites With Vilma Santos for Her 60th Anniversary in the Business

After several decades, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos and actor Carlo Aquino have finally reunited.

The meeting of the two caused nostalgia after they played mother and daughter in the '90s hit movie Bata, Bata Paano Ka Minaya? which had been adapted from the novel by the late novelist Lualhati Bautista, directed by Chito S. Roño.

On Instagram this Sunday, February 19, 2023, Carlo posted some photos taken of his reunion with Vilma, including his congratulations on the sixty (60th) anniversary in the showbiz of Star for All Seasons.

“Happy 60th anniv sa nag-iisang Vilma Santos-Recto,” Aquino said.

He also couldn't stop reliving the first day he and Vilma met on the set of the 1998 movie Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa?

The actor continued: “First day of shoot ko sa Bata bata. Dumating ka sa set na naka artista van. Pinakilala ka samin ni direk Chito [Roño] tapos lumapit ka sakin. Sabi mo ‘ill be your mom for this film, would you like that?’ Halos matanggal ulo ko sa pagtango. Salamat sa pagtanggap sa akin bilang si Ojie.”

He also explained how grateful he was for Santos for everything despite how long the movie has been finished.

Aquino added, “Kahit matagal na nagawa ang pelikula natin ganun pa din ang pagmamahal mo sakin. Salamat sa mahigpit na yakap pagkatapos ng bawat eksena. At higit sa lahat salamat sa ‘Akala mo lang wala.’”

That was the particular line Aquino was pertaining to was the signature "Akala mo lang wala" of the film. This was the heartbreaking line he dropped in the movie that is considered one of the most memorable scenes ever.

It goes: "Akala mo lang wala, pero meron, meron, meron!"

In the end, Carlo asked that he and Vilma work together again. “Sana makatrabaho kita ulit. Love you mommy Vi.”

Meanwhile, Vilma also happily shared on her official Facebook account about Aquino's visit.

She expressed: "Sobrang happy to see my son Carlo Aquino! What a surprise! Salamat din sa pagbisita Direk Adolf Alix Jr!”

Aside from Aquino and Santos, some netizens who watched their iconic movie Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa? couldn't help throwing back. In the comments section of Carlo's post, comments poured in from netizens who wanted them to be together again in a series or maybe their previous movie would have a remake.

Actress Sue Ramirez said: "Iconic."

Another netizen commented, "Sana may remake tong movie na to [Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa]. Pero kayo pa rin [ang] artista."
