These days, celebrities don't just rely on booking jobs when it comes to earning money. That's cause their fame has become an important commodity that allows them to use it as they see fit. From fragrance lines to full-on clothing labels, celebrity business has really shot up and evolved. But, we're getting way ahead of ourselves.

Before celebrities launch a brand, they release merchandise. Take it as a business stepping stone. Don't get it twisted, though, these merch lines make thousands, in some cases, millions of bucks. Who knew simple graphic tees, socks, and mugs could earn so much?

A new study by NetCredit sheds light on the business, and the researchers' findings are pretty eye-opening. See NetCredit's Celebrity Merchandise Index below.

Unsurprisingly, Harry Styles was revealed to have made the most out of merch, with an estimated revenue of $22,970,575. What's surprising is that Styles was followed by influencers The Sidemen and Jake Paul rather than the actors, musicians, and more that one would expect.

After Styles, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande are the closest celebrities that rank after the musician. It's clear these one thing we can takeaway from the study, though: Find a good side-hustle.

"Having a side-hustle is a great way to diversify your income, especially during uncertain times or when money is tight. From selling your own merchandise online to profiting on a skill or hobby, anyone can enjoy getting creative to try and make an extra buck from a side-hustle," the study said.
