A Tom and Cousin Greg Succession Spinoff? 'Drop Them Into the Philippines,' Nicholas Braun Says

The Succession star pitches his idea for a "disgusting brothers" spinoff set in the Philippines.

The first episode of Succession's final season was... a lot. From the next-gen Roys' alliance and Logan's reflections on mortality to a new deal with Nan Pierce and the end of Tom and Shiv, things are off to a fiery start, to say the least. Goddamn, they just know how to pull us back in.

While some of the larger narratives have certainly set things in motion for the upcoming episodes, the smaller ones are just as important—and downright hilarious. We even haven't gotten into the whole handbag dilemma here. That poor girl.

Of course, we can't forget about the "disgusting brothers." Tom and Cousin Greg are up to no good again, it seems. At the very least, one of them looks like he's been enjoying himself way too much. Nicholas Braun, the guy best known as that scrawny tall outsider in the Roy family, was just as excited as us about the duo's new sidequests. He and Matthew Macfadyen have sort of become the most successful couple on the show right now. And quite frankly, we're all rooting for the pair to connive and pull through. So much so that fans are hounding them for a potential spinoff in the near future.

Suffice it to say, Braun has some ideas himself. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter during Succession's season four premiere, the star shared some of his own thoughts on a possible plot and setting.

Why It's a Relief That Succession Is Ending After Season 4

“You’d have to drop Tom and Greg into some weird world, you know. Drop ‘em into the Philippines or something," he said. "Drop him into some crazy, weird, micro-business world we never saw on the show."

Interesting word choice here, we know. Define "crazy, weird," Cousin Greg. But hey, just imagine Greg and Tom trying to establish a startup here. Or maybe a partnership between Waystar Royco and Robinson's or something like that. How messed up would it be to see Cousin Greg as an ambassador on billboards along EDSA or Tom as a board member making his way through the streets of BGC? They're not the worst ideas in the world, right?

Nevertheless, episode two is coming up and we're already salivating over the young Roys' collab with the Pierces and Logan's next move. And we're sure as hell going to be waiting for what the disgusting brothers are up to. Being at the bottom of the top does have its perks, after all.
