Negroni Week 2023: Everything to Know About the Event
Hold onto your glasses, folks, because Negroni Week just hit the Philippines like a storm. Campari and Imbibe Magazine have collaborated with Slow Food again to spread good spirit by celebrating an Italian classic, the Negroni. Campari is looking to make the most of the steadily growing number of Negroni drinkers (thanks, Negroni Sbagliatogate 2022)—for a good cause.
Here's everything you need to know about Negroni Week 2023.
What is Negroni Week?
Negroni Week is an annual charitable event co-hosted by Campari and Imbibe Magazine, where bars from around the globe are invited to join in and whip up as many Negronis and creative variations as they can muster within a week. To sweeten things up for participants, the outlet that sells the most Negronis in a week will win a prize of P50,000. The donations generously contributed by participating bars are then directed toward a selected charitable organization for the year.Â
Since getting launched by Imbibe back in 2013, Negroni Week raised over $4 million and now has thousands of participants compared to the 120 they started with. For this year's edition, Campari has once again chosen to support Slow Food.
What is Slow Food?
Slow Food is a global movement committed to promoting cultural and biological diversity, food education, and ethical policies in the Food and Beverage industry. Donations raised during Negroni Week will go into community-led projects that champion their causes. Like the Campari and the Negroni, Slow Food has Italian origins, making the partnership even more fitting.
