Shakey's Isn't Serving Mojos Anymore. Here's Why

It’s a staple order from Shakey’s for many of us over the years. Except for the pizzas, the chain’s Mojo Potatoes is one of the most popular items on the menu of the giant pizza chain. Soft potatoes with a textured, savory crust dipped in either gravy or the special garlic white sauce—what’s not to love? 

But if you’ve visited Shakey’s or called to order from them recently, then you might already know that the beloved potato dish is M.I.A. Even when you order it with the fried chicken—the so-called Chicken N’ Mojos combo—servers have probably told you that you’ll be having French fries with your chicken instead.

According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, we’re not imagining things. Servers at Shakey’s have apparently been told that its famous Mojos have been “temporarily phased out” due to issues with suppliers.

The Inquirer reached out to the head office of Shakey’s Pizza Ventures and a representative confirmed the supply chain issues. However, the rep made the assurance that “mojos haven’t been phased out and they’re on the way.”

“We didn’t experience shortage from our suppliers,” the Shakey’s rep told the Inquirer. “The shipments just got delayed because of supply chain bottlenecks.”

Shakey’s added that the problem should be sorted out within the month and that we should be getting our Mojos fix before we move on to February.

Shakey’s is currently owned by the Century Pacific Group, which acquired a controlling interest in the pizza chain from the Prieto family in 2016. The new Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc (SPAVI) acquired more food brands over the years, including Potato Corner in 2021.

Here's hoping we see the return of Shakey’s Mojos sooner rather than later.
