It’s an annual tradition for lovers of the so-called “water of life,” except for the last two years when a worldwide pandemic shut everything down. But this year, it’s back, and it promises one helluva good time for attendees.
Whisky Live 2022 is the fifth edition of the global event for all things whisky and it’s happening on November 4 and 5 at the Shangri-La Fort in Bonifacio Global City. This year, guests can expect over 100 international and local whisky brands and over 16 International Whisky Masters for two nights of unlimited whisky tasting, whisky master classes, workshops, and a bartending competition.

“This is such an exciting year for us as we hopefully bid goodbye fully to COVID and enjoy a more energetic whisky event,” says Johnssen Li, CEO of Grand Cru, which organizes Whisky Live in the Philippines. “For those who’ve joined us for the past four years, expect new whisky brands this 2022. We’re also doing interactive whisky workshops where participants get the chance to create their own whisky cocktails.”
Just to catch you up, whisky brands present at the 2019 edition include: Maker’s Mark, Auchentoshan, Jim Beam, Cutty Sark, Don Papa Rhum, Chivas, The Dalmore, Glendronach Distillery, Glencadam, Teeling Whisky, Dewar’s, Glengoyne, Jura, Glenfiddich, Highland Park, Glenmorangie, The Macallan, Jameson, Kavalan, The Singleton, Monkey Shoulder, Tomintoul, Duncan Taylor, the Belgian Owl, Johnnie Walker, The Balvenie, The Glenrothes, Akashi, Mars Whisky, Roku Gin, and many more.
Something to look forward to at this year’s event is a showcase on internationally renowned whisky brand Wolfburn, the most northerly whisky distillery on the Scottish mainland and which is known to fashion their whisky by hand.
Another brand joining the line-up is Duncan Taylor, which owns one of the largest privately held collections of vintage and rare whiskies and has a reputation for offering the most complex and authentic whiskies without compromise.
For the bar show, the world’s first Fair Trade certified and sustainably sourced premium rum, Flor de Caña Rum will join in on the fun.
