Alden Richards Now Has His Own Esports Team

Already a fixture in numerous esports events in the past, Alden Richards is putting more stake in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive scene with a planned launch of his very own Myriad Esports Pro Team.

Richards made the announcement during the Dark League Studios King's League grand finals on Tuesday, December 27, in which he was invited as a guest.

"I'm here to introduce my very own Esports team, Myriad Esports. Nakita niyo po mayroon tayong Myriad Esports Cup. It's going to be happening this coming January 28, 2023, so I'm encouraging and I'm asking for the support sa lahat ng mga ML players diyan na amateur na gusto pong ma-experience iyong tournament namin," Richards said on stage the Dark League Studios spectacle.

Last November, Richards launched the Myriad Esports Cup on his Instagram profile. The tournament has a P500,000 prize pool—a pot not so easily pooled by other leagues. Considering Myriad Esports only started in August 2022, the cash prize is impressive.

Myriad Esports is a gaming video creator company that live streams Mobile Legends games on Facebook. The page started streaming in August 2022. 

"Myriad Esports, we're just starting. Wala pa kaming one year. You can catch all our streamers in Myriads Esports page on Facebook," Richards shared. He also introduced the roster under Myriad Esports who will comprise the team that he will support next year.

"Ipapakilala ko lang po sila, mga bagong streamers. And eventually, sa kanila rin po manggagaling iyong Myriad Esports Pro Team, coming soon."

With Alden Richards' entry into esports, things are expected to be shaken up in the Mobile Legends pro scene, not only in the competitive scene but also in how Richards could set the standards in boot camp management and upholding players' welfare in the amateur leagues.
