Trade in Your Old Luggage and Help Public School Students Get New Chairs
Frequent travelers know the struggle of changing their go-to luggage and then having the old ones stowed away in the closet or behind the door. You can now get rid of those through Samsonite's Luggage Trade-In Campaign, which lets customers bring in their pre-loved luggage—regardless of brand, size, or condition—to selected stores until June 15. In return, customers can receive up to 35% off on the Niar and Astra models while stocks last.
This initiative not only offers substantial savings but also contributes to a greater cause. The materials from the traded-in luggage will be repurposed into sustainable school chairs through a partnership with Envirotech Philippines, a recycling company specializing in creating products from plastic waste. Samsonite will also donate P100 for every trade-in transaction to the World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-PH).
Samsonite's Luggage Trade-In Campaign was launched in 2023, when it saw over 1,000 pieces of luggage transformed into 120 recycled chairs. These were distributed to five classrooms in Labo Elementary School in Marinduque. The effort successfully diverted over four tons of plastic waste from landfills and oceans, saving more than 100 trees in the process. The resulting hard-plastic chairs are designed to last for more than 15 years, making a long-term impact on both education and the environment. The 2024 edition started on April 25.

Samsonite Astra (blue, 68cm)

Participating stores include Greenbelt 5, Central Square Mall, Shangri-La Plaza, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, Podium, Glorietta 3, SM North EDSA, TriNoma, Robinsons Magnolia, Paseo de Sta Rosa, Outlets at Lipa, SM Southmall, and SM Clark. The availability of several branches in Metro Manila ensures that a large number of people can participate in the campaign, making it easier for customers to trade in their old luggage for something new and more efficient while contributing to the cause.
