Recent surveys show that travelers nowadays value experience more than the destination, or rather what a place offers, than what it looks like on the surface. This could be a post-pandemic reaction, a kind of revenge travel that's more intentional and enriching to the soul, no matter how cliche that may sound.

It is with this mindset that The Travel Club opened its new flagship store, The Travel Club+, at the Shangri-La Plaza back in May. The go-to concept store known for carrying high-end brands like Ace, Briggs & Riley, Delsey, LOJEL, Piquadro, and World Traveller, puts a premium on experience by curating brands for all kinds of travelers, from tourists going on a solo trip with their furbabies to those bringing their whole family.

Curated Products for Every Traveler

The Travel Club+'s curation is emphasized by how the store looks like. For starters, the brand name "The Travel Club" comes with a plus symbol, which is also a stylized image of an airplane circling the globe. Then, you have the entrance that's characteristically curved, showing a much more welcoming vibe. These curved lines are extended inside, with stations featuring round tables and chairs where products are displayed.

In one corner, you have a selection of travel essentials for families with babies. It features brands like Ergobaby, Jet Kids, Baby Zen, mamily, and Beaba.

On another corner with a round table, there are travel products for travelers with dogs. Vetraska is among the brands in this station.

Then there's the art corner, where you can try out the art supplies or purchase items from brands like Canson, Nara, and Pepin.

Traveling as an Experience

The Travel Club+ extends its experience-centric mindset to activities happening inside the store. For one, it has a stall for Everyday Coffee Roasters, which offers iced and hot coffee as well as pastries. You can enjoy your drink while lounging around the seats at the store.

There's also a station for customizing your purchases. You can have a luggage monogrammed with your name, or you can check out their heat press and sticker printing service.
