Uncle Roger Makes Adobo, Anointed as 'Tito Roger'

Who would have thought that a Malaysian comedian would become the Internet’s #1 defender of adobo? After shitting on Rachael Rae’s Americanized version of adobo, Uncle Roger finally got around to making adobo himself in a new viral video that the online Pinoys are just eating up.

With the help of NYC-based, Filipino-American chef Leah Cohen, aka Tita Leah, Uncle Roger made a classic dish of adobo and even got to taste adobo sa gata, otherwise known as an advanced-level version of adobo.

Fortunately, there was nothing that exciting about Uncle Roger’s adobo making—no jalapenos and olive oil in sight, thank God (Rachael Ray, we’re looking at you). With Chef Leah’s help, Uncle Roger did it the Filipino way with the OG Datu Puti and not some fancy-ass vinegar brand. Uncle Roger might have made a traditional dish of adobo, but we’ll be honest, Chef Leah’s adobo sa gata looked downright delicious with its New York pizzazz and additional coconut milk.
