A Closer Look at Black Adam, the DC Anti-Hero Who Isn't Ashamed to Kill

Black Adam is coming. And he’s not afraid of being the bad guy. After years of waiting, Dwayne Johnson’s DC superhero movie Black Adam is arriving in cinemas on October 21. A spin-off from Shazam! and the 11th film in the DC Extended Universe, Black Adam might just usher in a new age for the messy DCEU. 

It’s no secret that the DCEU is plagued with continuity issues and lack of consistency, but the new batch of DCEU films looks promising enough to change that. Based on the first official trailer of Black Adam, the movie is finally taking the road less traveled in the saturated world of superhero movies. In Black Adam, the title hero claims to be no hero at all and isn’t ashamed of not living up to the Justice League standard. In fact, this antihero isn’t afraid of killing to get his way. Unlike the gloomy and guilt-ridden antihero Batman, Black Adam is shameless, ruthless, and completely unapologetic. 

And this just might make him the most interesting character in the DCEU despite the fact that the film hasn’t even dropped yet. 

Regardless, we couldn’t be more excited about this entry into the DCEU. October is still months away, so here’s a closer look at The Rock’s upcoming antihero movie, Black Adam.
