The Top 10 Shows Coming to Amazon Prime Video in 2023

It’s going to be an exciting year on Amazon Prime Video. We’ve already got our calendars plotted with the most exciting shows and movies coming to Prime in 2023, and you should too. Here are 10 shows you shouldn’t miss after the new year.

Gen V

Release date: Sometime in 2023

What do you do when you combine The Boys, Hunger Games, and frat parties? The most chaotic piece of entertainment to grace our screens. Gen V will follow Gen Z supes as they compete in Hunger Games-esque challenges at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. Expect even more morally corrupt and crass escapades in this spin-off of The Boys.

The Boys, Season 4

Release date: Fall 2023

Gen V wouldn’t be complete without the OG. The Boys Season 4 is expected to drop in the fall of 2023, so you might have to wait a little longer for Homeland’s sadism and debauchery.

The Rig

Release date: January 4

This suspenseful thriller will follow a group of workers assigned to an oil rig off the coast of Scotland. Just when the group is about to return to the mainland, a mysterious fog arrives that sets a  series of supernatural events into motion. Not much else is known about the show, but we’re always up for suspense and mysteries.

Reacher, Season 2

Release date: Summer 2023

Reacher was an unexpected success for Prime as the show became one of the platform’s top five series of all time. If you’re in the mood for a classic American crime series with a touch of political drama, binge-watch Reacher Season 1 and get ready for Season 2.

Good Omens, Season 2

Release date: Summer 2023

Good Omens Season 1 was so good that even though it covered all the events of Neil Gaiman’s book, Prime Video is releasing a second season. The story will follow Crowley and Aziraphale after they saved Adam, his friends, and well, the world. The dynamic duo, Michael Sheen and David Tennant, will return for even more ineffable fun.

Hunters, Season 2

Release date: January 13

The second and final season of Hunters, a criminally underrated conspiracy drama, will drop in January. Inspired by real-life Nazi hunters, the show stars Logan Lerman and Al Pacino, with Jordan Peele attached as an executive producer.

Wilderness

Release date: Sometime in 2023

We love a good revenge story, and Prime’s about to release a series that’ll satisfy your craving for violence and vengeance. Starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Wilderness is based on the book of the same name by B.E. Jones.

Takeshi’s Castle

Release date: Sometime in 2023

Get ready for a heavy dose of nostalgia. Prime Video is bringing back Takeshi’s Castle, the OG reality  game show from Japan. Since the show ended in 1990, we’ve been living on reruns, but next year, Prime Video is giving us a full reboot.

The Wheel of Time, Season 2

Release date: Early in 2023

Since Season 2 wrapped up filming in early 2022, it’s safe to say we’ll be getting an early 2023 release for Season 2 as well. The second season will likely follow the events of the second book, The Great Hunt, which introduced a host of new main characters to The Wheel of Time book series.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Release date: Sometime in 2023

It’s still uncertain if Mr. And Mrs. Smith will drop next year, but we have our fingers crossed. With Donald Glover on board as the show’s creator, the modern-day sequel to the iconic 2005 Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie starrer will feature Glover and Maya Erskine in the lead roles.
