Cebuano Actress Chai Fonacier Stuns in Nocebo Trailer with Eva Green 

Cebuano actress Chai Fonacier’s film Nocebo has finally released its first trailer, and it's just as chilling as we expected. Fonacier stars opposite the critically-acclaimed Eva Green and BAFTA-nominated Mark Strong in Nocebo, a psychological thriller film bordering on horror. 

Written by Garret Shanley and directed by Lorcan Finnegan, the film follows Green, a fashion designer, as she develops a mysterious illness that only Fonacier, a Filipino caregiver, can manage to treat. Only instead of Western medicine, Fonacier’s character Diana employs the mysterious art of Filipino folk healing, which triggers a whole series of events.

From the trailer alone, it’s hard to say whether Fonacier plays the villain or merely the medium that reveals a “horrifying truth” within the family.

Nocebo hits U.S. cinemas on November 4 and digital platforms on November 22. No word yet on whether it’ll screen in Philippine cinemas.
