Some speculated his Twitter account was hacked, while others guessed he was made an offer too lucrative to refuse.
Others were probably thinking: Does he really need to do this? He's a champion wrestler with a thriving acting career. He's also a respected philanthropist and a New York Times bestselling author. What does he need to prove?

Curious fans clicked on the link, but instead of finding John Cena's profile, they're welcomed by Ricky Stanicky, the main character from his soon-to-be-released movie.
The bio read: "You've found the verified OnlyFans account for Ricky Stanicky—renowned impersonator, philanthropist, investment banker, socialite, cancer survivor, and method actor. Subscribe to get spicy pics and vids!" Joining in the action is absolutely free.
Fans soon caught on that the account was a clever marketing ploy designed to highlight Cena's leading role in the upcoming comedy, Ricky Stanicky.
The movie revolves around three lifelong friends who, after a prank goes awry, create an imaginary figure named Ricky Stanicky to avoid trouble. Two decades later, Dean, JT, and Wes (portrayed by Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler) still rely on the non-existent Ricky as a convenient excuse for their irresponsible actions.
However, when their significant others grow skeptical and insist on meeting the elusive Mr. Stanicky, the friends are forced to hire "Rock Hard" Rod (Cena), a has-been actor known for his bawdy celebrity impersonations, to impersonate Ricky. The situation spirals out of control as Rod immerses himself in what he deems the performance of his career, leading the trio to regret ever conceiving the character of Ricky Stanicky.

Recently starring in several major films, Cena is part of the cast for the upcoming Argylle with Henry Cavill and portrayed a unique version of Ken in the previous year's box-office success, Barbie.
