Love & Death

Premiered on April 27
The first three episodes of Love & Death premiered towards the tail end of April, but all the good stuff will drop in May. Based on a true story, the series tells the story of Candy Montgomery (Elizabeth Olsen), a Southern housewife who was accused of a brutal axe murder in 1980. Montgomery had an affair with the husband of her friend, Betty Gore (Lily Rabe), before the murder took place. Scandal, murder, and good ‘ole suburban horror—What more could you want?
Succession Season 4

Premiered on March 26, series ends on May 28
The end is near. Succession’s last four episodes will drop on HBO this month. After years of regaling us with tales of the rich and miserable, the Roy family will finally conclude their dynastic power battle on May 28, 2023. Save your Monday mornings (9 a.m., Philippine time) for the last-ever episodes of one of the greatest shows to hit television.
Citadel
Where to watch: Prime Video
Release date: April 28
James Bond who? That’s basically the premise of Citadel, Amazon Prime Video’s $300 million spy thriller created by the Russo brothers. The series follows two spies with amnesia on a mission to recover their past lives and save the world from an underground organization. The six-episode series premiered on April 28 and will conclude on May 26. The spy drama stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, Stanley Tucci, and more.
White House Plumbers

Release date: May 1
A Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux tandem was not on our Bingo card this year, but we’re not complaining. The two star in the political satire series White House Plumbers, which will follow the masterminds of Watergate as they inadvertently cause the downfall of U.S. President Richard Nixon. The show’s material might be serious, but the delivery promises to be five episodes of shade and satire.
Queen Charlotte

Release date: May 4
God Bless Netflix for always delivering the most binge-able, delicious content. Bridgerton took the world by storm and we just know Queen Charlotte will do the same. The series is a prequel miniseries that will focus on Queen Charlotte’s rise to power in her youth. The six-episode series promises to deliver all the sex, drama, and pomp that made the original series a global hit.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 2
Where to watch: Disney+
Release date: May 4
Star Wars: Visions is a love letter to animation, and any animation lover needs to add Volume 2 to their watch list. If Volume 1’s episodes were all anime, Volume 2 will explore different styles with animation studios from around the world. Have you ever imagined what Star Wars would look like in the stop-motion world of Wallace and Gromit? Well, you’ll find out in Volume 2.
Silo

Rebecca Ferguson? Sign us up. After Dune, the actress returns to dystopian television with Silo, a series that is based on the Silo series of novels. The show tells the story of a society forced underground by ecological disasters on Earth. A disaster in their carefully controlled society eventually leads Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) to question what’s happening up top and why they’re underground in the first place.
African Queens: Cleopatra

Honestly, we’re just here for the tea. The second season of African Queens has caused quite a stir on social media on account of allegedly “blackwashing” Cleopatra, who was believed to be of Green ancestry. So, in short, she’s supposed to be white. We’re holding our judgment until we actually see the series.
Prehistoric Planet Season 2

Prehistoric Planet blew us away with Season 1, so it’s only right we return for Season 2. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough with a complete score by Hans Zimmer, Prehistoric Planet might be the most compelling docuseries in decades—and it’s not even real. At least, not really. The entire series brings animation to a whole new level with its absurdly realistic detail of creatures that existed millions of years ago. Prehistoric Planet is an event, and we won’t miss out.
Platonic

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne pair up for this comedy series about friends turned strangers turned friends again. In the midst of their midlife crises, the two renew their friendship that soon consumes their lives. What ensues is chaos and hilarity, hinting that their platonic relationship might be a little toxic after all.
