Spider-Man Miles Morales Exists in the MCU, And You Can't Tell Us Otherwise
Don’t blame us for our trust issues with Sony and Marvel. After they swore on their lives that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire weren’t going to show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, we’re still a little salty.
Now, one of the directors of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Kemp Powers, claims that Miles Morales and the Spider-Verse aren’t tied to the MCU, but fans have evidence to prove otherwise.

In Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Donald Glover makes an appearance as Aaron Davis, aka Miles Morales’ uncle in the comics and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Davis, who moonlights as the mega villain The Prowler, tells Tom Holland’s Peter Parker that he has a nephew in the neighborhood. It’s a major Easter Egg for hardcore Spider-Man fans, and a sneaky attempt by the MCU to set up a potential appearance from Miles Morales in the future.
At first, we thought that was all it was, a little treat for Spider-Man fans. Then we discovered the Portuguese dub of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Quick recap: At the end of No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker leaves his house in Queens, NYC and moves into a new apartment in what we presume is Brooklyn, which also happens to be Miles’ neighborhood. Coincidence? We think not.
But that’s not the juicy part. In the Portuguese dub of No Way Home, you can overhear one of Peter’s new neighbors, calling out Miles by name and telling him to go to bed. We can hazard a guess that this is Rio Morales, Miles’ Hispanic mom. We don’t hear Miles respond, but we just know that this wasn’t just an Easter Egg. This was intentional.

After all, voiceovers and dubbed translations are based on the script, not improv, so Sony and Marvel could be working on a major Multiverse collaboration in the future. And this isn’t just hopeful thinking, either. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producer Amy Pascal confirmed that a live-action Miles Morales project is in development. How the hell they plan to top Across the Spider-Verse is beyond us, but we doubt that the MCU would pass up an opportunity for a live-action Miles Morales x Peter Parker mashup. Or better yet, a multimedia crossover with the animated Miles popping up in the live-action MCU. We saw it happen in Loki, after all. In the MCU, anything can happen.
The Ultra Spider-Man crossover is probably years away, so you can make do with the multiversal Spider Society in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is now in cinemas nationwide.
